1. Who we are

Hand Vetted Co. operates handvetted.com, a matching service that connects homeowners with one verified home-services or financial professional per request. Our mailing address is 101 N. Tryon Street Suite 600, Charlotte, NC 28202. Questions about this policy can be sent through our contact page.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you submit a request we collect your name, phone number, email address, ZIP code, the service you need and the project details you describe. When a business applies to join our network we collect the business name, owner and contact details, licensing and insurance information and the ZIP codes it serves.

Information collected automatically. Our servers record standard request logs: IP address, browser type, pages visited, the page that referred you and timestamps. We use these for security, troubleshooting and aggregate traffic measurement.

Call and message records. When a matched business calls or texts you through a Handvetted tracking number, we record the time, duration and outcome of the contact, and may record calls where permitted by law, so we can verify that the introduction happened and resolve disputes.

3. How we use information

• To select one verified business for your request and introduce you to it.
• To contact you about your request by phone, text message or email.
• To verify businesses, prevent fraud, enforce our standards and resolve disputes.
• To operate, secure and improve the site and our matching service.
• To meet legal, accounting and regulatory obligations.

4. How information is shared

Your request, including your name, phone number, email address, ZIP code and project details, is shared with one verified business selected for your request so that it can contact you. Your details are not sold, and they are not shared with other businesses to bid on the same job.

We use service providers who process data on our behalf, such as hosting, telephony and messaging carriers, email delivery, payment processing for businesses and analytics. They may use your information only to provide those services to us.

We may disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

5. Text messages and phone calls

When you submit a request and check the consent box, you agree that Handvetted and the one business matched to your request may contact you by phone call and SMS or MMS text message at the number you provided, including by automated technology, about that request. Consent is not a condition of using the service. Message frequency varies with your request; a typical request generates fewer than ten messages. Message and data rates may apply.

You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from us. Reply HELP for help, or contact us through our contact page. After you opt out we will send one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. Opting out of texts does not end your request; a matched business may still contact you by phone or email unless you tell us otherwise.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Full program terms are in our Terms of Service.

6. Cookies and analytics

Handvetted.com uses only the cookies and browser storage needed to operate the site and its forms. If we use an analytics service, it is configured to collect aggregate usage data, and we do not use advertising cookies to build profiles of visitors.

7. Data retention and security

We keep request records for as long as needed to operate the matching service, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations, and we delete or anonymize records on a scheduled basis after that. Personal details in our systems are encrypted at rest and in transit, access is limited to staff who need it, and access to call recordings is logged.

8. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to correct, update or delete your information, or to stop contacting you, at any time through our contact page. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy law, including the right to know what we hold about you and to opt out of certain uses. We do not sell personal information and do not discriminate against anyone for exercising privacy rights.

9. Children

Handvetted is intended for adults who own or manage residential property. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

10. Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date above. Material changes to how we use text messaging consent will be communicated before they take effect.
