Plan your project · HVAC

Describe the comfort problem before choosing equipment.

An uncomfortable room, a system that will not start and a planned replacement are different requests. Describe the symptoms and the equipment you already have so the next assessment can focus on the problem rather than a predetermined product.

Know the scope

Which kind of help do you need?

Start with the situation that best describes your property. Use these questions to make the scope clearer before you commit to work.

01

Heating or cooling repair

Note whether the unit starts, whether the problem affects the whole home, and when it occurs. Include any displayed error code and recent service history. Ask what diagnostics the visit includes and whether the fee is separate from repair work.

02

System replacement

Identify the existing system and the goals for a replacement: reliability, comfort, operating costs or a changed floor plan. Ask how equipment selection, duct condition and controls will be assessed before comparing proposals.

03

Uneven temperatures and airflow

Describe the rooms affected and whether doors, weather or time of day change the problem. Ask whether the proposed assessment includes the distribution system and controls, rather than only replacing the main unit.

04

Maintenance and indoor comfort

State whether you want routine maintenance, a humidity concern investigated or help understanding filtration options. Ask what a maintenance visit includes and which findings would lead to a separate repair recommendation.

Make a considered choice

Useful questions before you agree.

A written proposal should explain what is included, what still needs a decision, and who is responsible for the next step.

01

Understand the diagnosis

Ask which finding supports each recommended repair and whether the estimate includes labor, parts and any follow-up visit. Request approval before additional work is performed.

02

Compare complete proposals

Check model details, controls, installation work, removal of old equipment, warranties and exclusions. Ask whether electrical, duct or other associated work is included.

03

Confirm the project steps

Agree on who handles applicable permits and inspections, how the installation will be checked, and what operating instructions and records you receive afterward.

Before submitting

Questions about your request.

Should I select a new unit before an assessment?
Explain your goals and ask what information is needed to select equipment for the home. An advertised model or a neighbor’s system does not by itself establish the right proposal for your property.
Does this form schedule emergency service?
No. It records a request for team review and does not promise dispatch or a response time. If you need immediate service, contact an available provider directly.
What happens after I submit?
Your request is held for HandVetted team review. Phone verification and partner matching are not active. The form is not an appointment booking, a quote or a confirmation that a business is available.
